Y6 Maths seminar
Seven outstanding mathematicians from Y6 meet for maths seminars at least once every term. This term's session was inspired by a discussion over pre-SATs toast (hence the photos). We were looking into mathematical operations and which operations are commutative. There was as much talking as there was calculating with lots of ideas expressed clearly and with lots of trial and error reasoning and some really good mistakes. It is a great pleasure to work with such an enthusiastic and talented group of people.
January 2023
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our maths ‘Stay and play’ morning to help raisefund for NSPCC. All participants enjoyed the informal nature of the maths activities and playing alongside their children. It was amazing to hear that many adults hadn’t realised how good their children were at maths and the children were really buzzing after the session.
We also managed to raise £153.80 for the NSPCC so a successful day all round. Thanks again to those who joined us and those who supported a good cause. We look forward to more sessions like this in the future!
